Case Study

Welt Bestattung Website Redesign Case Study

This website redesign case study shows how a small trial turned into four orders: I redesigned a 100+ page German funeral home website and turned a cautious first-time client into a long-term partner.

Before and after: Welt Bestattung website redesign — website redesign case study

Before and after — the outdated original site and the redesigned site, live today.

The client

Alex Buchanan, a German agency partner, needed a full redesign for his client’s website: Welt Bestattung, a funeral home in Würzburg, Germany. The site had grown past 90 pages in German and Russian, and it looked and felt outdated. The content had to stay exactly the same. Only the design could change.

The challenge

This website redesign case study began with a clear constraint: the content had to stay exactly the same. A funeral home website has to feel calm, dignified, and trustworthy from the very first second. At the same time, the site was enormous: dozens of service pages across two languages, long unstructured text blocks, and trust signals buried far down the page. Redesigning it meant restructuring everything without losing a single word, because every word carried SEO value.

The process

Alex was cautious at first, so we started small. He ordered a trial: the homepage and one service page, built directly on a live WordPress staging link instead of static mockups. That way he could see the real layout, spacing, and mobile behavior exactly as his client would experience it.

The trial won him over, and the full project began. I studied the reference sites he shared and learned what makes funeral service design work: elegant, minimal, and built around trust. Then I rebuilt the site page by page. Long text blocks became clear, calm sections. Content was grouped by topic so visitors could orient themselves instantly. Trust elements like 24/7 availability and reviews moved to the top of the homepage. Each service page was restructured around the questions families actually ask, and one page became a reusable template for all the rest.

No content was removed or rewritten. One hundred percent of the original text stayed in place, which preserved the site’s SEO value completely.

The project grew to 104 fully built pages, making this website redesign case study one of my largest single projects. I delivered ahead of schedule, migrated everything to the client’s domain, and kept supporting the site after launch with new sections and a blog template.

4orders from one client
104pages redesigned
2languages
5★on every order

The results of this website redesign case study speak for themselves:

  • 4 orders from a single client
  • 104 pages redesigned in German and Russian
  • Zero content lost, SEO fully preserved
  • Delivered ahead of deadline
  • 5 stars on every order for communication, quality, and value
  • The site is still live today: welt-bestattung.de

Project timeline

  • December 12, 2025: trial order — homepage and one service page built on a live staging link
  • December 16, 2025: trial approved by the client after first review
  • December 31, 2025: full redesign order — 104 pages delivered ahead of schedule
  • January 2026: migration to the client’s domain and final changes
  • February 2026: post-launch revisions, new homepage section and blog template
  • Result: 4 orders, 5 stars on every order

Each phase built on the last. The trial proved the design direction, the full redesign proved I could handle scale, and the migration and revision phases proved I stay with a project after launch. That is why a single trial turned into a client who came back three more times.

Why this website redesign case study worked

During the project Alex told me he never had to explain anything because I handled everything on my own. That is the standard I bring to every project: research the industry, understand the audience, and deliver work the client never needs to micromanage.
